This 2024, the Lunar New Year (most known as Chinese New Year) will be on the 10th of February 2024.
As a Filipino, I have always wondered why some people celebrate a different "New Year" than us which will always be the 1st of January of the year. Digging into some rabbit holes, I found out that the Chinese New Year we celebrate is now called Lunar New Year in respect to the different people/cultures that also use the lunar cycle to set their time phase (but it is still widely known as CNY).
It is said that the Chinese created a lunar calendar based on the cycles of the moon to help them know when to plant, harvest, and celebrate. It is a way of taking into consideration the season (since CNY usually falls on the 2nd New Moon after Winter Solstice which is usually between January 21 to February 20) into their socio-economic activities.
As someone who is exploring and practicing spirituality, do you know that it is believed that when the phase of the moon is new, it is considered one of the best times for manifestation? It is during this time that people are encouraged to set their intentions to attract the energy they want to achieve (like a New Year's resolution), only we write manifestations in the present form to give the universe the energetic frequency that it is already with you or you are ready to accept the blessings on its way to you.
So what are the usual practices when manifesting?
Create affirmations -- I am beautiful, I feel loved, I am abundant and blessed with everything I need and want are examples of affirmations. You can have these affirmations in your head or say it out loud in front of a mirror, you can do it the way you are most comfortable with.
Upgrade these affirmations by journaling or creating vision boards. It is one thing to have those ideas in your mind (thought) but journaling and vision boards can be our external or tangible reminder to the universe of what it owes you. As for me, I usually journal and handcraft customized beaded/crystal bracelets set with the intention (www.facebook.com/philomenasloveandlight).
Always conclude with appreciation and gratitude (through prayer or offering). Showing God (or the universe) that you are thankful for everything you have at the moment, creates that energy of abundance within you.
Manifestations can be practiced by anyone. Whether you are religious or spiritual.
If you are religious, here are some of the verses that support this:
“And all things, whatsoever you shall ask in prayer, believing, you shall receive.” – Matthew 21:22
“Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.” – Mark 11:24
If you believe are open to the Universal Laws, you would know about the Law of Attraction. The basic philosophy behind the law of attraction is that energy precedes manifestation. As such, positive thoughts may bring positive results into a person's life, while negative thoughts bring the opposite (http://tinyurl.com/Forbes-Law-of-Attraction).
In this regard, I would like to share with you a portion of my prayer that I have started to include in our nightly prayers since college (I taught this to my children). This is the tweaked version but the capslocked words are the essential parts of prayer.
"God our Father, our Creator and Source of everything, I thank you for continuing to help me and all my loved ones to improve PHYSICALLY, EMOTIONALLY, INTELLECTUALLY, and SPIRITUALLY. May Jesus Christ, Your Son, be in the center of our hearts to guide our WAY to the TRUTH on how to live our LIFE. May the Holy Spirit who dwells in us, continue to guide our THOUGHTS, WORDS, and ACTIONS so that can live our life fulfilling the Divine Path that You have prepared for us. "
So with this, I will be sharing with you on a separate post some of my favorite K-Dramas that can inspire us to start working on improving ourselves which can come in handy this coming Lunar New Year (or every time you need that push).
Please look forward to it! Are you ready to claim the blessings meant for you? Aja!
